Marie Antoinette Dresses inspired by Palace of Versailles Gardens

One of my most favorite inspirations just happens to be flower gardens. When I think of flower gardens, I envision the smell of roses.I have seen many designer fabrics that look as though the floral patterns came from the Versailles Gardens in France.  Here is just one of the panniered dresses that has the Versaiiles garden theme. And the flowers look 3 dimensional.

The base color is a creme de minthe. The roses are varied in shades pale, light, medium and dark pinks. The fabric is a designer level fabric by Free Spirit. The fabric designer is Tanya Whelan. And of course, I with my helpers got to enjoy constructing and making this beautiful fabric into a Marie Antoinette French Colonial Masterpeice.

Marie Antoinette 18th Century Dresses and Panniers

The Marie Antoinette period is probably the most influential fashion period of all times. During this period, fashion began to evolve with more and more political influence. The notable dresses of this period of dressing was the Rococo dresses. Rococo dresses were projected out at the sides with panniers. These dresses were flat in the front and back, although they projected out at the sides from the waists.

The panniers used to shape the dresses were in varied shapes. Panniers could be two side pockets with side projection. The most notable and popular panniers were shaped into one cage similar to a Farthingale. The panniers cage can be adjusted to be rounder, or flatter at the front and back.

Panniers can be custom made in almost any size. Panniers can be as small as 10 inches at each side, and wide as 52 inches at each side. Panniers made larger than 52 inches at the sides can become so heavy that the person wearing the panniers will be to weighed down. therfore I suggest to stay in the 46 to 52 range. theses are humongous cages, and will dramatically be seen on any stage or theatre.

46 inch panniers.paniiers project our 23 inches at each side.
These are great for entertainers, theatre, opera, cosplay and more.
